Don’t press the button

With ‘Don’t press the button’ the viewers are facing a dilemma. Either they just look at the static image on the display or they influence it by pressing the button. The scene on the display seems to be an experimental set-up. The title of the work and the aesthetic of the red button suggest danger. The installation plays upon temptation and prohibition, triggers curiosity and the childlike joy in the forbidden. The viewers options are limited down to a minimum. It all comes down to a simple yes-or-no-answer to the question: Should I press the button?
